*** VOTE *** Voice of rural Otter Tail County Vance BACHMANN District 1 County Commissioner My name is Vance Bachmann, and I am run- ning for District 1 County Commissioner for Otter Tail County. I am a lifelong resident of Perham, MN in Corliss township. I have been a township supervisor for Corliss township for 12 years and counting. In Jan- uary, I became the District 9 Director of the Minnesota Association of Townships. While working for the townships, I also have the privilege to be the Chairperson of the Joint Powers for the Perham Fire Dept. I am fo- cused on keeping Otter Tail County moving forward. As a small business owner, I see the problems small businesses face with rising taxes and finding employees. In addition, I hobby farm and know the many challenges that our farmers and future sure we are progressive with our funds and use them to farmers face. For 14 years, I have been a volunteer firefighter with Per- both the cities in District 1 and rural communities stronger. ham Fire Department. I was also the President of the Jay- cees of Perham. I am currently on the EOT County Fair Board and am a volunteer of many other nonprofits of Perham. My family and I sponsor a highway through the Adopt-A-Highway program, and I see how much more needs to be done with recycling. I am an avid outdoorsman and want to see our environment be here for years to come. I feel as a county Commissioner, I would bring conservative yet progressive ideas. There has been a lot of movement forward in the communities we live in, but there is still much more to do. We need to be fiscally responsi- ble with the taxpayers' money that the coun- ty and state receive, and we need to put that money to work for the people. I want to make keep the county and townships working together to make Point 1 Make OTC fiscally responsible. We currently raise taxes, 4 to 5 percent to avoid a vote and this is wrong. Flatten taxes and use the money we get for what it's intended. Point 2 Make OTC a 2nd amendment sanctuary county. Currently this is tabled, it need to be pushed through to keep our people and county safe. Point 3 Listen to the PEOPLE and invite the PEOPLE to meetings to get their insight. This county needs to be run by the people and for the people. Point 4 Grants and grant awards program changes need to be made. Make sure we know if a trail, lights, or any grant is needed or wanted. How much does this cost in Maintenance? If land is needed, I do not agree to take that with Eminent Domain. Point 5 Bring us in-line with other counties. While each county is different, why do certain things cost more for Otter Tail County? We should work with other counties like the townships do with their neighbors and cut these costs. *** VOTE *** Voice of rural Otter Tail County Vance BACHMANN District 1 County Commissioner My name is Vance Bachmann, and I am run- ning for District 1 County Commissioner for Otter Tail County.
