The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is a cabinet level state agency that assists Minnesota’s more than 381,000 Veterans and their families to obtain the benefits and services provided by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
Programs offered include: Claims and Outreach, Tribal Veteran Service Officers, Recently Separated Veterans Program, State Soldiers Assistance Program, State Approving Agency, LinkVet Referral Center, Minnesota Veterans Homes, Minnesota GI Bill, Higher Education Veterans Assistance, Minnesota Veterans Cemeteries, Bronze Star Markers, Minnesota C.O.R.E , Military Funeral Honors, Veterans Preference in Employment and the Women Veterans Program.
MDVA also overseas the state's five Veterans Homes, located in Minneapolis, Hastings, Silver Bay, Luverne and Fergus Falls.
